Plymouth Antiquarian Society Announces New Director

The Plymouth Antiquarian Society announces the appointment of Dr. Anne C. Reilly as its new Executive Director. Following a national job search, Dr. Reilly was selected with the unanimous approval of the Board of Trustees and will take the helm of the 96-year old institution in January. She leaves a recent position as the Director of the Hanover Historical Society.

Born and raised in Plymouth, Dr. Reilly was inspired to pursue a career in public history following undergraduate and graduate internships at Plimoth Plantation, the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, and the prestigious Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE. She holds a certificate in Museum Studies and received her Ph.D. in American Civilization from the University of Delaware in early 2015, where her studies focused on the political and cultural dynamics of historical commemorations, including Plymouth's Tercentenary Celebration in 1920-21. "Dr. Reilly's extensive knowledge of Plymouth history makes her exceptionally suited for this leadership position in our historical community," Antiquarian President Rose Stearns noted. "For almost a century, the Antiquarian Society has been Plymouth's key voice for historic preservation and has brought attention to the full scope of Plymouth history that unfolded after the Pilgrims," Dr. Reilly commented. "

In 2019, the Society will celebrate its centennial, to be followed by the town's 400th anniversary in 2020, and preserving our local history has never been more important. I'm honored to lead the Society at this strategic moment for Plymouth," she added.

Donations to Toys for Tots must be new, unopened items. Toys donated must not be gift-wrapped. Wrapped items will have to be opened prior to being accepted as a donation. Toys collected for this drive will be distributed to families in need in the greater Plymouth area.
