PBT's Big Band Tribute! Two shows only 10/3 & 10/4


The Barn Doors Orchestra Tribute to the Big Bands is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Torrance to the show. Matt who recently played Billy Flynn in Chicago, will be singing Mack The Knife and Fly Me To The Moon.

This retrospect will also include a special tribute to the Andrews Sisters, featuring Maggie Irvine, Erica Morris and Emily Borges, performing favorites such as In The Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Chattanooga Choo Choo and Sentimental Journey.

Some of the other songs that the 12 piece Barn Doors Orchestra will be playing are: Begin The Beguine, Take The A Train, Sweet Georgia Brown, Pennsylvania 6-5000 & String Of Pearls.

Announcing Barktoberfest's Walk, Run, Wag


October 3, 2015
Race Begins at 9 am

Nelson Park & Rail Trail

Bring Rover down for our 1st Annual Run, Walk, Wag fun race! Join your fellow dog lovers for a 2-mile jaunt along the Rail Trail starting at Nelson Park.
Entry fee of $15 & includes a bandana for your pooch.
The race is a non-competitive fun run for participants of all ages.
Restrictions/Rules
-Limited to 125 participants
-Friendly dogs on leashes, retractable leashes are not acceptable
-All dogs must be licensed
-Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet

Free Oak Grove Cemetery Tour: Civil War Stories


The Plymouth Antiquarian Society invites the public to a free tour of Oak Grove and Vine Hills Cemeteries to be held Sunday, September 20th at 1 pm. Meet soldiers, slaves & anti-slavery reformers interred in Plymouth's finest rural cemetery on a free guided one-hour walking tour with Dr. Donna Curtin. Meet at the Summer Street entrance of Oak Grove Cemetery by the stone receiving house.


No reservations are required for individuals and families. Participants may traverse steep and slippery slopes; please wear appropriate shoes. Severe weather may cancel tour; updates will be posted on the Plymouth Antiquarian Society Facebook page.

Evening Garden Club Meeting


The next meeting of the Evening Garden Club of Plymouth will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the club’s new meeting place, the Plymouth Center for the Arts, located at 11 North St. The program for the evening will be “Irish Gardens” presented by Karin Stanley. She is an Irish-born artist, sculptor and garden designer.

Epitaphs Conventional & Curious


 
Join Dr. Donna Curtin for a free tour on Saturday, September 5th at 1 pm for an entertaining look at epitaphs on Burial Hill, from the mundane to the eloquent.


Epitaphs Conventional & Curious is part of the Antiquarian Society's program, Burial Hill: History in Progress that will continue through the year 2020. Each year, the Society will present a series of history expeditions on Burial Hill, one of America's oldest and most significant burying grounds. Tours will be offered on the first Saturday of every month at 1 pm (excepting January); meet at the top of the Hill.
