BRAHMS Symphony No.3
VAUGHAN WILLIAMS Toward the Unknown Region
RUTTER Gloria
Brahm's emotional reflections ignited this beautiful 3rd Symphony whose movements seem to be "of one piece, one beat of the heart." No need to think, simply be, as we yield to the pull and undertow of these emotionally sweeping pieces. With the voices of the 2016 High School Choral Consortium guiding the way, we'll journey Toward the Unknown Region, an English work inspired by the American Walt Whitman poem Darest thou now O Soul, where All waits undream'd of in that region, that inaccessible land. Our 100-voice choral assembly of high school students from Duxbury, Marshfield, Pembroke, Plymouth, Scituate and Silver Lake Regional combine to catapult our joyous finale. Bursting with resounding energy, Rutter's Gloria exalts and lifts the musical spirit until it soars!
