Join our friends from Plimoth Plantation on May 6 for a unique,
behind-the-scenes trip to Mystic Seaport to visit Mayflower II while she is
undergoing the second phase of her restoration work at the renowned Henry B.
duPont Preservation Shipyard. The ship is scheduled to return to Plymouth Harbor
in June for the season, so this is a wonderful opportunity to see first-hand the
incredible craftsmanship of both museums' skilled shipwrights and maritime
artisans while she is still at Mystic Seaport.
This is a rare opportunity to learn about the art of wooden shipbuilding and restoration and how Plimoth Plantation is keeping it alive in collaboration with Mystic Seaport. This multi-year, multi-million preservation project, once fully funded, will ensure that Mayflower II can continue to fulfill her educational mission and serve as an enduring symbol of hope and freedom.
