Pilgrim Festival Chorus Presents Retrospectives
Pilgrim Festival Chorus (PFC), the region’s principal community chorus, presents a spring concert, Retrospectives, on Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 pm at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth, and Sunday, April 30 at 4 pm at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 842 Tremont Street, Duxbury. The chorus is directed by William B. Richter and accompanied by Elizabeth Chapman Reilly on piano.
Retrospectives highlights some of the best American composers creating choral music today. Works by Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre, and Z. Randall Stroope, among others, have quickly become favorites with today's audiences. The program was selected to inspire a profound impact in concert, including a wide range of styles, from energetic gospel tunes and spirituals to harmonically rich settings of 19th and 20th century poetry.
Since 1999, PFC has delighted South Shore audiences with classical programming. The group of more than 70 singers of all adult ages is dedicated to the art of choral singing in authentic settings. In addition to annual spring concerts, PFC presents a Christmas-themed concert each December, as well as a Messiah sing-along, and summer concerts with pops-style programming.
Tickets are $20.00 for adults, $18.00 for senior citizens and $15.00 for students over 14. Children under age 14 are admitted free. Complimentary refreshments will be served in the church hall immediately following each performance.
Tickets may be reserved by phone by contacting Gail at (781) 826-8416. To order advance tickets online, or for more information about PFC, please visit www.pilgrimfestivalchorus.org, or follow Pilgrim Festival Chorus on Facebook.
