Plymouth Airshow & Open House



The Plymouth Air Show will be a spectacular event! It will be held on Saturday, August 20th from 10 am to 2 pm.  An airshow with local star performers such as aerobatic and Red Bull Air Race pilot, Mike Goulian and RC pilot, Mitch Buckley. On the ground there will be kids activities, airplane ground display, exhibits and airplane & helicopter rides. It is held bi-annually to connect the Plymouth Airport community to the town of Plymouth and the surrounding areas. 

Event benefits the Plymouth Aero Club scholarship program for local students and other aero club initiatives. The Aero Club is a non-profit organization, helping the local aviation community since 1984.

Tickets are a $10 per car donation when you park. See you there!

While on the Pilgrim Food Tour, guests will enjoy some of the best food and beverages that Plymouth has to offer, including:

Jenney Museum, Plymouth Rock Foundation events

The Jenney Museum and Plymouth Rock Foundation will celebrate stories of people and events, beginning with the Pilgrims, who fought to preserve freedom, from Aug. 18-20.
The following is a list of scheduled events:
Statehouse Tour: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 18. Attendees can tour the Statehouse of Boston with Paul Jehle, historian and pastor of The New Testament Church in Plymouth. The tour is free, but registration is required.
The Pilgrim Progress: 6 p.m. Aug. 19. The Pilgrim Progress is a re-enactment of the Pilgrims church service. This event is free to attend and begins at Plymouth Rock.
Celebration of the Beginning of America: 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19. There will be a Celebration of the Beginning of America at the First Church in Town Square, Plymouth, with music, historic presentations and drama. The event is free, but reservations are required as seating is limited. An offering will be taken.
American Heritage Tour: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 20. There will be an American Heritage Tour which includes a guided tour of the National Monument to the Forefathers and the historic district of Plymouth, as well as admission to the Jenney Museum. Cost is $22 for adults and $12.50 for children between 5-17. Reservation are required. Visit jenneymuseum.org for tour information.
Celebration of Faith and Freedom: 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Aug. 20. There will be a Celebration of Faith and Freedom at the Jenney Museum, 48 Summer St., Plymouth. Attendees will learn how the Pilgrims influenced the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the country. They will also visit the Abolitionist exhibit and learn about the Underground Railroad then and now. In the Family Exhibit, attendees will see how society is built from the family up, not from the government down, and how the Pilgrims believed the family was the cornerstone of society. Local historians Dr. Paul Jehle, pastor of the New Testament Church; Leo Martin, director of education at the Jenney Museum in Plymouth; Rich Howell, historian and re-enactor; and Jennie Fornier will be among the speakers during this event. The event is free, and donations will be taken to support the educational programs at the museum. Contact the Jenney Museum for reservations. Space is limited.
Celebrate and Let Freedom Ring: 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 20. The event wraps up with Celebrate and Let Freedom Ring at New Hope Chapel, 89 Court St., Plymouth. Attendees can join this patriotic celebration with music, drama and historic presentations. Admission is free, but registration is required as seating is limited. An offering will be taken.

The Jenney Museum is a non-profit living history museum. Support for the museum is through admissions, sales, tours, membership and donations. It’s mission is to educate families, students, visitors and the local community regarding the economic, historic and agricultural significance of the Pilgrims of Plimoth Colony, including their relationship to the Native Americans. Educational tours are offered from April through Thanksgiving weekend daily, except Sundays. Reservations are required. In addition, we have had a special request from our friends at the Old Colony YMCA -- they are looking for children's books to share with their campers this summer. Bring them to the Library and they will ensure that they make there way over to the happy campers!

Plymouth Antiquarian Society's Hats on Parade Saturday 30th July


You are invited to a summer garden party to open a special exhibit of early 20th-century hats from the Antiquarian Society's collection. Join us at the Hedge House, 126 Water Street, Plymouth, as we tip our hats to the women who led and supported the Society during its first 50 years by showcasing headwear from this period. Enjoy light refreshments generously donated by Simply Divine Catering in the Rose T. Briggs Memorial Garden. A variety of stylish hats will be available for purchase and may be customized to your taste. Costumes encouraged! Hats will remain on display through Sunday, August 14th during regular tour hours.

Fee: $15 per person; $12 members. Reservations recommended.

FREE Vacation Bible School


Chiltonville Congregational Church, 6 River Street, Plymouth, is offering a FREE Vacation Bible School on June 11-15 from 5:45pm-8:15pm for children entering grades K-6. All are welcome and encouraged to bring friends - you do not need to be affiliated with the church to participate. 

The theme is Deep Sea Discovery and there will be Bible stories, science experiments/crafts exploring the mysteries of the sea, songs, active games, yummy snacks, and more!! This program is FREE! Steven Karidoyanes conducts a happy mix of patriotic, stage and film music--a special 50th anniversary tribute to the television series, Star Trek, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, and a patriot sing-along.
