Water Street Sewer Interceptor Program

The Town of Plymouth’s Department of Public Works would like to announce the replacement of the Water Street Sewer Interceptor pipeline is expected to commence the week of February 24, 2014.  The project involves the installation of a 1,500-foot long, 30-inch diameter PVC sewer main along Water Street from State Pier to the roundabout at Town Wharf.  The Contractor anticipates that it will take approximately three months to complete the construction of the new sewer interceptor pipeline.  Please be aware that this sewer replacement project involves working with active sewer lines and deep construction, which can pose a significant challenge for construction crews.

During construction, this may cause traffic delays, detours, uneven/settling trenches, and elevated noise levels. The Town and the Contractor will make every effort to minimize disturbances to residents, businesses, pedestrians and motorists in the downtown waterfront area throughout the duration of this project.
