Plymouth Children's Chorus celebrates 10th anniversary

Nestled within the 100th season of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra is another special anniversary. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Plymouth Children’s Chorus.
Comprised of select fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders, this training chorus rehearses over a focused eight-week period in preparation for the Phil’s annual Family Concert and is the result of a special partnership between Plymouth Public Schools music educators and the Plymouth Philharmonic. This tuition-free ensemble is designed to give students of every socio-economic background the opportunity to perform at a high musical level with a professional symphony orchestra. Their founding director is Federal Furnace School music specialist Kathy McMinn.
The Phil’s Family Concert is being held in Plymouth’s Memorial Hall Sunday, March 6. The concert begins at 3 p.m. and the popular hands-on instrument demonstrations precede the concert at 2.
Tickets are on sale now. Memorial Hall is fully accessible. Tickets are $15 and $20 for Adults, $8 and $12 for Children (through age 12). Tickets can be purchased on-line by visiting plymouthphil.org or calling the Phil office at 508-746-8008.
Memorial Hall is located at 83 Court St. in downtown Plymouth.
